I've tried a few different things during the past 4 years at uni in my attempt to find the holy grail of note-taking and studying techniques. But the more I tried, the more I began to realise that there was no one-size-fits-all solution. Some people need absolute silence if they want to get any study done while others are more productive with snacks on hand (this actually makes me counter-productive).

I always come back to hand-written study notes. I love the satisfaction of physically highlighting, adding little side notes with connecting arrows and the personal touch of handwriting. When I'm in lectures however, I usually have to compromise. My management subjects are easy enough - I print out the lecture slides and make annotations as I go (or on my iPad). But with engineering - concise, shorthand dot points with accompanying formulas and diagrams are what work best for me.

When Officeworks contacted me, looking to collaborate on a 'back-to-uni' post, it was a no-brainer. I always head to Officeworks before the semester starts to pick up my books and pens. The main uni-related items I buy are:

  1. Lecture note-taking books (I like sizes smaller than A4 for portability)

  2. Tutorial books (again, usually small)

  3. Study/revision books (I like keeping these separate to keep me organised - generally A4)

I love, and am so happy to be a part of, Officework's #GetSetGoFurther campaign which is all about being inspired and getting organised for the year so that we can be one step closer to achieving our study (or life, really) goals. My top resolution for 2015 is to work on being more organised and efficient in all that I do, so that I can spend less time stressing and more time doing.

I'd really love to see how you're putting your plans into action with Officeworks products: remember to tag me and include #GetSetGoFurther on your Instagram posts so that I can be inspired and see how you're making your dreams a reality!
