let's talk: passion and passions

let's talk: passion and passions

A topic I'm fond of talking too much about on here is being happy and passionate - basically being completely in love with your day-to-day life (easier said than done some days, am I right?).

As overrated as it may be as a self-help book theme or blog post, it's still a great conversation starter that I use whenever I meet someone new. Some enjoy my thought-provoking (ahem: probing) questions while others wonder why on earth I waste my time on seemingly trivial ideas. People are a little surprised when I tell them I'm not studying anything arts-based but there's a long, windy semi-philosophical explanation to it all that only makes sense in my head. In short? I chose to keep my true passions as a 'side thing' (or hobby, if you will). Even though it does suck big time that I don't have as much time as I'd like to dedicate to photography or music, it was the right choice for me personally and I haven't regretted it once.

To me, passion is everything. Passion doesn't always need to be great, bright, colourful sparks of emotion but it can also come from much, much deeper within you that's sitting pretty with contentment and love all-round. I'm passionate about developing good habits, working to constantly improve physically, mentally and emotionally, checklists (seriously), stationery, reading, spicy asian instant noodles etc etc. Also passionately against needles, homophobics and arrogance.

Don't be intimidated by the word or others around you. Focus on the little things* that make you happy, truly happy. What gets you up in the morning? What gets you through the day? What stops you from going to bed? When do you feel the most.. you? We all share a love for fashion but do you have something you're passionate about that really defines you?

* DOGS. Every. Single. Time. I just can't not smile when I see a dog.
